What is NEET-PG 2025?

NEET-PG 2025 is the single eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses, as mandated by Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and Section 10(D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

  • No other entrance exams at state or institutional levels are valid for these courses.
  • Qualifying NEET-PG is mandatory for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in India.
  • NEET-PG is required for foreign nationals seeking medical course admissions in India.

Scope of NEET-PG 2025

NEET-PG 2025 is the entrance exam for the 2025-26 academic session, covering:

  1. All India 50% quota seats for all States/Union Territories.
  2. State quota seats for all States/Union Territories.
  3. All Private Medical Colleges, Institutions, and Deemed Universities across India.
  4. Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
  5. Post MBBS DNB Courses and Post MBBS NBE Diploma Courses.

The following institutions are not covered by NEET-PG 2025 centralized admissions:

  1. AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS
  2. PGIMER, Chandigarh
  3. JIPMER, Puducherry
  4. NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  5. Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum

Note: No State Government or Private Medical College/University shall conduct separate entrance exams for MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for the 2025-26 session.

Note: Excluding charges by payment gateways. Fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be carried forward.

Admit Card

  1. Availability: Admit cards will be available on https://nbe.edu.in from 7th March 2025. Ineligible candidates will not receive admit cards.
  2. Candidates will be notified via SMS/Email and website notices. Admit cards will not be sent by post/email.
  3. Download the admit card from the NBE website and affix a recent passport-size photograph (35x45 mm, 75% face coverage, white background, 600 dpi, no caps/stethoscope/goggles/ornaments, no reflections/red eyes).

Test Day Procedures:

  1. Arrive at the test venue's 'Reporting Counter' as per the time slot on the admit card.
  2. Late arrivals beyond the prescribed time will not be allowed to appear.
  3. NBE is not responsible for delays due to any reason.
  4. Ensure E-Aadhaar photographs are clear and match the candidate's face.
  5. Mandatory Documents:
    • Printed admit card with barcoded/QR code and recent photograph.
    • Photocopy of Permanent/Provisional SMC/MCI registration (retained by the test center).
    • Original, valid photo ID (Aadhaar preferred, or PAN Card, Driving License, Passport).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Possess an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate per NMC Act, 2019, or Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, with permanent/provisional registration from NMC/MCI or State Medical Council.
  2. Complete one year of internship by 31st May 2025.
  3. Carry provisional/permanent medical registration certificate to the exam and during admission.
  4. Candidates with MBBS from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats unless nominated by the Government of India for central pool seats, with a signed affidavit.

Application Process

The NEET-PG 2025 application form was available online from 15th January to 25th March 2025. Steps include:

  1. Register to generate User ID/Application ID and Password (sent via SMS/Email).
  2. Fill personal, qualification, internship, SMC/MCI registration, and test center details.
  3. Upload passport-size photograph and signature (max 80 KB, JPG/JPEG).
  4. Choose test city.
  5. Pay fees online (debit/credit card, net banking).
  6. Agree to the declaration and submit.
  7. Print the application form with transaction ID.

Edit Window: Available from 29th March to 7th April 2025 for all editable fields except Name, Email ID, Nationality, and Test City. Image corrections (photograph, signature, thumb impression) can be made from 26th April to 30th April 2025.

Guidelines

Scheme of NEET-PG 2025

  1. Conducted on 21st May 2025 as a single-day, single-session computer-based exam.
  2. Syllabus covers subjects per Graduate Medical Education Regulations by the erstwhile MCI, approved by the Government of India.
  3. Consists of 200 multiple-choice questions (single correct response) in English, with 3 hours 30 minutes allotted.
  4. 25% negative marking for incorrect answers; no deduction for unattempted questions.

Result

The NEET-PG 2025 result will be declared by 20th June 2025, available at https://nbe.edu.in and https://natboard.edu.in.

  1. Download scorecards using login credentials.
  2. No re-evaluation, rechecking, or re-totaling of responses is permitted.
  3. Result validity is for the 2025 admission session only.

NEET-PG 2025 Counseling

Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the Directorate General of Health Services, NEET-PG 2025 counseling includes two rounds, with a third round if seats remain vacant. MCC handles:

  • 50% All India Quota seats (except J&K).
  • 100% seats of Central Universities (AMU, BHU, DU, Central Institutes).
  • 100% seats of Deemed Universities.
  • 50% AIQ PG seats of ESIC colleges (wards of insured persons).
  • All PG seats of Armed Forces Medical Services (registration only).
  • Central Institutes (VMMC, Safdarjung, ABVIMS, RML, ESIC PGIMSR).

Key Notes:

  • Register at https://mcc.nic.in.
  • Pay non-refundable registration fees and refundable security deposit based on category.
  • Security deposits are forfeited for candidates not joining allotted seats in Round 2, Mop Up, or Stray Vacancy Rounds.
  • 5% reservation for PwD category per MCI Gazette Notification.

Online Registration Process

  1. Create a profile on MCC's official website.
  2. Complete the NEET-PG 2025 counseling application form.
  3. Upload required documents.
  4. Pay the counseling fee (credit/debit card, net banking).
  5. Fill and lock choices.
  6. Print the application for reference.
